BDEM Project Seminar Series (online talks)

The BDEM project has kicked off an online seminar series on Big Data and Emergency Management related topics. First seminar in this series was delivered by Dr. Hemant Purohit of George Mason University. He is currently holding a guest researcher position in our Big Data Research Group at Vestlandsforsking. He is passionate about understanding online human behavior from unstructured social web data for humanitarian and crisis informatics. He delivered the seminar on “Social Media and Web Mining for Future Work at Smart City Services”.

Next seminar will be held online on 5th of November at 13 hours CET. The speaker is Dr. Xuan Song of the University of Tokyo, Japan. He will deliver talk on “Next-Generation Urban Management: When Human Mobility Modeling Meets AI and Big Data”.
