RESEARCHER POSITION IN TEXT MINING / NLP and DEEP LEARNING
We offer a full-time researcher position funded by the Research Council of Norway SOCYTI Project in the Big Data & Emerging Technologies Research Group at Vestlandsforsking.
Project description
The researcher position is linked to a Researcher Project for Technological Convergence − Violence-inducing Behaviour Prevention in Social-Cyber Space of Local Communities (SOCYTI). The scope of the project is to build a real-time cloud-based solution for malicious behaviour detection that informs the proactive community resilience monitoring for enhanced communication strategies of local community services.
Researcher position description
The focus of the researcher will be to contribute to the design and implementation of a hybrid multi-task learning framework for multilingual violence-inducing behaviour detection system. Knowledge in the state-of-the-art text mining methods and/or Natural Language Processing (NLP) as well as the ability and creativity to modify them and advance beyond them is very important. Experience in working with deep learning methods is essential. The candidate will perform cutting-edge artificial intelligence research in the context of a consortium composed of renowned academic partners from Norway and USA. Thus, the researcher must be motivated to work in an interdisciplinary and international team.
Requirements
A Master/PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology or associated subject is desirable. The candidate should have the following skill sets:
Experience in NLP and/or Text Mining
Deep Learning skills for analysing text streams
Experience working with large datasets using Python
A sound publication track record for applicants with a doctorate
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills in English
Previous experience working with research projects is an asset
